Considering the widespread concern in the resumption of economic and social activity as soon as the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic allows, Safe & Clean created the “Safe&Clean” label of approval to distinguish tourist activities which are compliant with hygiene and cleaning requirements for the prevention and control of COVID-19 and other possible infections.

Hosts, Tourism enterprises, tourist entertainment companies and travel agencies will be able to request certification as a “Safe&Clean” establishment. After they have submitted the Declaration of Commitment, they can make public the “Safe & Clean” logo certification, either physically on their premises or in their digital platforms.

In order to display this stamp, all tourist related business have to submit the Safe & Clean Declaration of Commitment and to implement an internal protocol with staff  instruction measures and cleaning procedures .

With this measure, Safe & Clean  intends to inform the members on the hygiene requirements and cleaning measures to ensure the safety of various establishments, according to the recommendations of the  Health Authorities, as well as promoting the Caribbean as a safe destination from the point of view of care with the spread of the Virus or other possible infections, reinforcing the confidence of those who visit the Caribbean countries.

 The Safe&Clean Label Certificate is valid for one year. It requires the implementation of an internal protocol that will ensure the necessary hygiene measures are executed to avoid risks of contagion and guarantee safe procedures for the operation of tourist activities.

Safe & Clean, in coordination with the competent Health entities, and based on the recommendations from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), will carry out audits of  the hosts, companies and establishments that joined this “Clean and Safe” Certification initiative.
